5 Film Escapes.... And the Watches that Should have been on Set.
The force of stillness that has come along with this year has meant a deep confrontation with our own selves. Rather than our usual momentary escapes of travel, night life, live music and art, we are existing in our minds’ loop. Our minds’ loop absolutely needs interrupting from time to time, and delving into the film dimension is one blissful way of doing so. When we look to cinema we look to the infinite, the limitless possibilities of human life, we get to suspend ourselves momentarily in new colour palettes, cultures, seasons and eras.
It is nice to think of this year as a long meditation, and to ask ourselves what it is that we should meditate on... the infinite world of film is a place to begin this thinking.
